Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to facilitate this method
  1. 1

    Step 1: Ask everyone to remove their headphones or mute their speakers. (30 sec)

  2. 2

    Step 2: Instruct them to sit in silence and identify three distinct sounds in their room or outside their window. (2 min)

  3. 3

    Step 3: Have everyone put their headsets back on and briefly share one sound in the chat. (1 min)

Facilitator Tips
  • Remind them that 'distracting' sounds like traffic or pets are part of the practice, not interruptions.
  • Keep your own camera on but remain still.
Variations
  • Focus only on the furthest sound they can hear, then the closest.
