Improv Cards for Storytelling
Improv Cards facilitate team communication and collaboration through storytelling prompts. The visual cues on the cards help participants step outside their comfort zones and engage in more open and creative dialogue.
Use this method to kick off a retrospective, workshop, or team-building session, especially when you need to encourage more open communication and break down barriers between team members.
Solves: Difficulty expressing ideas, lack of psychological safety, stale communication patterns.

Step 4: Group reflection (5-10 min). Facilitate a brief discussion about the stories shared and any common themes or insights that emerged.

- Create a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing.
- Use the cards to generate ideas for solving a specific problem.
- Have participants create a collaborative story, with each person adding a sentence or paragraph inspired by their card.
