Sensory Floor Walk
Participants remove their shoes and walk mindfully within their space, focusing entirely on the sensations in their feet. This movement-based meditation breaks the 'sitting' fatigue and grounds the participant in their physical environment.
To re-energize a group during a long session without using high-intensity exercise.
Solves: Physical lethargy and 'Zoom fatigue' from sitting for hours.
- 1
Step 1: Invite participants to stand up and, if comfortable, remove their shoes/socks. (1 min)
- 2
Step 2: Ask them to walk very slowly in a small circle or back and forth. (3 min)
- 3
Step 3: Prompt them to notice the transition of weight from heel to toe and the texture of the floor. (2 min)
- 4
Step 4: Return to the screen and share one physical sensation noticed. (1 min)
- Play soft, ambient music during the walk.
- Remind them this isn't about getting anywhere, just about the sensation of walking.
- If space is limited, do a 'standing scan' where they just shift weight while stationary.
