Story Swap
Story Swap is a creative icebreaker that encourages spontaneous storytelling and active listening. Participants use visual prompts to inspire short narratives, fostering imagination and building confidence in a supportive environment.
Use this method at the beginning of a workshop or meeting to energize the group, encourage creative thinking, and build rapport among participants.
Solves: Overcoming initial hesitation to speak up in a group; stimulating creative thinking when participants feel stuck.

Step 1: Distribute one image card (face down) to each participant. Instruct them not to look at the image yet. (2 minutes)

Step 2: Form pairs randomly. (1 minute)

Step 3: One person in each pair shows their image to their partner. The partner then shares a short story inspired by the image. (3-4 minutes per person)

Step 4: The partners switch roles, with the other person sharing their image and inspiring a story. (3-4 minutes per person)

Step 5: (Optional) Have pairs swap partners and repeat the exercise with new images. (2 minutes)
- Emphasize that there are no right or wrong answers; the goal is to have fun and be creative.
