The Werewolf Game

A social deduction game where 'villagers' try to identify 'werewolves' hidden among them before they are eliminated. It relies on persuasion, deception, and observation.

When to Use

To develop critical thinking, group observation, and persuasive speaking skills.

How It Works

Solves: Low engagement in group discussions or a lack of 'psychological safety' for debating ideas.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to facilitate this method
  1. 1

Step 1: Assign roles (Werewolf, Seer, Medic, Villager) via private message (5 min).

  2. 2

Step 2: 'Night Phase': Everyone closes eyes; Werewolves pick a victim via DM to the facilitator (3 min).

  3. 3

Step 3: 'Day Phase': The facilitator reveals who was 'eaten.' The survivors debate who the werewolves are and vote to eliminate one suspect (10-15 min).

  4. 4

Step 4: Repeat until either all werewolves are caught or they outnumber the villagers (15-30 min).

Facilitator Tips
  • As the facilitator, act as a 'narrator' to keep the mood atmospheric.
  • Encourage 'ghosts' (eliminated players) to stay on the call but remain silent.
Variations
  • One Night Ultimate Werewolf: A faster version that only lasts one 'night' and one 'day'.
